1483Reconquista: In order to besiege Granada, the Christian camp is set up for the first time in the place called Ojos de Huecar, later called the city of Santa Fe.
1773Jorge Juan (b. 1713), naval engineer and prominent Spanish scientist died.
1813The Army of the North, under the command of the lawyer Manuel Belgrano, continues its march northwards and takes the city of Potosí (Bolivia).
1929In Mexico, the agreements ratifying the end of the so-called Cristero War were signed.
